My work is a collaboration of ideas and themes in everyday society. Subjects range from current affairs to cultural norms lived daily. I have several ongoing themes that run in my most recent pieces. I have focused on the solo or singular individual at this time. I feel much of our society today has become focused on the individual. Our everyday life entails on what is good or bad for the individual before units of people or family. Even in a family setting it's no longer about how the unit functions but how the individuals in the units function. The motivation for creating my work comes from a desire to make a statement through visual art. I always have dabbled in drawing and painting but as I explored the art world and discovered the general lack of 'obvious' statement in urban contemporary art that is colorful and visually stimulating. I felt the need to build a visual platform with my work. Every artist has a different way which is why I love the dispicline of art. No original piece is ever the same and it is truly an experience going from idea to finished work. I love the process and progression and look forward to what is to come. I am pleasantly suprised of what I have accomplished within a year's time. Many individuals have stated that artists of various media have spent years in the studio and not have shown one piece publicly. As intimidated as I was the putting together my website I displayed my first series "The Elements" I was curious of what people would take away from the pieces. I am truly humbled by my positive responses and am thrilled to continue to build upon what I have established thus far.
